Visit with Chet Whitney, owner of The Floor Show, and you'll be pressed not to catch his enthusiasm for the local area and for the many possibilities available in home interior design.
"I enjoy the whole business," says Chet, "because you don't do the same thing in any one hour. You're either working with tile, or you're working with stone, or you're going out to measure a job," he continues. "You don't ever get bored."
Chet's family feels the same way. His wife Terry and son Chad are both involved in the business, working with interior designer Regina Lathom, and Bette Heffner in sales.
After years of being located in the heart of downtown Sandpoint, The Floor Show opened their doors on Kootenai Cutoff Road in Ponderay. A Mohawk Color Center Elite location, the new showroom encompasses 4,000 square feet of designer colors.
"We are full-service. We do everything inside, except paint or light fixtures," says Chet. "We do the very custom products or we have the very basic products. We do about anything anyone wants to look at."
Whether on the lake, on the mountain, or working with clients in his showroom, Chet lives his life with enthusiasm and shares his knowledge with others.
